Ysira is the Bastard Daughter of Aesur by Nerai, and the one who ultimately destroyed Aesur’s archnemisis, Lithis. Following the Dragon Wars she was imprisoned in her own Lunar Palace and worship of her was banned by the Church of Aesur.

Ysira has few demands of her followers. Only to the unwanted child does she give an edict: Do not let your parents shame prevent you from shining. She does, however, encourage her followers to fight Undeath wherever they find it, for she realizes that these creatures are the minions of Lithis.

Temples and Clergy

Even during the Age of Heroes, the followers of the moon tended to be somewhat circumspect in their practices. No effort was made to make them secret or private, but priests were often unwilling to discuss their faith in public.

Temples of the Moon were often open air, usually standing stones on top of hills positioned along convergences of leylines. Services were held four times a month on the cardinal point of each phase of the moon. While anyone was allowed to observe these rites, participation was limited to initiates of the faith.

At the end of the Dragon War, the Priests of Aesur declared Ysira a Dark Goddess and her worshippers to be heretical, forcing either conversion to the faith of Aesur or to be burned at the stake.

Ysira resents her father, but refuses to let their relationship shape who she is as a Goddess. She has a son, Reyas, by a mortal thief. While she feels a filial obligation to her mother, she is often frustrated by her.
